    Split CSV files easily with Free CSV Splitter!

    Few days ago, I got a huge CSV file from a friend asking me to import data to his Drupal site. I said "No Problem dude, give me just 5 minutes". Then, I created all mappers and tried to import that large CSV file. Believe me, he sent me 195 MB file with more that 1 billion of lines.
    Importing progress took seconds - no, minutes, no, hours - No! I could not import it at all!

    Then, I asked my brother a suggestion. He simply gave me this Free CSV splitter software. Don't ask me how my bro got it, somehow, this application is just awesome.

    You only need to show the CSV file and set line-limit or piece-limit.

    Can't login to facebook chat using eBuddy ?

    Some of our readers asked in our forum, why eBuddy mobile application can't connect to forum, why Facebook chat.

    If you read our post on new eBuddy version, you know that the new version uses Facebook Connect to log you to the chat. In older versions, you have to enter your facebook password to the application interface. In the new version, you will be taken to the facebook.com web site to get your permission to connect your account to eBuddy.

    How to change content type of a Drupal node ? It's simple and takes not more than a dozen of clicks!

    Yes, with the Drupal node convert module, you can easily change the type of the nodes. No problem if the node type has CCK fIelds, Node Convert will play with CCK for you. You can change nodes individually or in bulk mode. Also, book structures will remain properly working. You can even use this module to convert to/from forum topics utilized by drupal forum module in core(works well with Advanced Forum module too!)

    Note that true FREE domains are not free. dot.tk offers true fully qualified domains, but they apply some conditions for use. Other registrars in the list simply offer subdomains. But all of them appear like true FREE domains.

    Moving database (part 3 - Drupal site migration guide)

    We know that Drupal CMS stores all its textual data in a database. If we didn't move the database to new host, we just have to build everything from the scratch. So database is the must!

    There are serveral ways to grab your site's database.
    We can use Drupal's fantastic Backup and Migrate module to do the job (recommended) or use phpmyadmin (old school) to do it.

    If your old host's control panel has file compressing features, you can easily compress your site's files and download them. Fortunately most control panels including cPanel, DirectAdmin and Plesk support this feature. In this article, I explain the same task in two methods. For those whose control panels can compress files or not. If your site is on a server without control panel, you can simply compress files using terminal.

    First, log in to your Drupal site(not drupal.Org) as the administraor. Then, go to Adminiser > Site Configuration > Performance. (/admin/settings/performance)

    This structured guide will show you the easiest way to move your Drupal site to another host, minimizing possible downtimes and time-waste.

    To complete a successful move, we must both database and files to the new host. Then, we need to adjust the host environment to restart your Drupal site without lossing any data, or having any headaches.

    Verify with Yahoo SiteExplorer

    Verifing your web site with Yahoo SiteExplore will enable managing search results appearance in Yahoo Search.

    Go to http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com and sign in to Yahoo SiteExplore.
    Then, you can add your site.

    TIP: enter your prefered domain name here. If you like www.example.com, enter it. If you like just example.com, enter it. This prefered domain will be shown in search results untill you change settings.
    Then, Yahoo SiteExplore will ask you to verify your ownership.

    When I write this,there are only 2 ways to verify your site.

    1. Uploading a html file.
    2. Adding a metatag to home page.

    Alexa is the world's leading public traffic-recording web site. If you claimed your ownership there, you can change your site's profile as you wish!

    To verify, search alexa for your domain name, and go to "is this your web site ?"

    Alexa will ask you to verify your ownership via any of the 4 methods.

    1. Uploading text file.
    2. Adding a metatag to home page.
    3. Confirm e-mail address
    4. Ask an officer.

    1. Uploading the txt file.

    Most builders don't offer direct access to the document root, so please skip to next method if you are unlucky to upload.
    If you have the direct access, just upload the file using a FTP client or browser uploading.
