Top 5 methods to check whether you are banned from Google
Getting banned from Google is the worst thing to a web site. Isn't ? You have to pay for every visit if search engines don't send visitors to your web site. But how can us check whether our sites are in green zone or red zone ?
After a good research and a good learning, I chose Top 5 methods to check Google's banning.
1. Check for an exact word phrase
You can copy a long sentence or few words(do not copy words like "terms of service","all rights reserved" or "login or register to comment". Select an unique word which only available at your site)
Then, Google the copied word.
Found your web site ? Hooray! You aren't banned.
Couldn't find ? Don't worry. Sometimes Google is pretty late to discover good stuff. Feel free to continue.
2. Do a domain search
Go to google.com, and search for your entire domain. Be sure to use your prefered domain name. For an example, if your domain is 'example.com', and prefered domain is 'www.example.com', Google for "www.example.com".
You may see your web site in results. No matter if not in the first page, all you need is to see your web site in any page.
If you can't see your web site in the list, don't worry. As I said above, Google may have missed your web site.
Google advanced search
Search for "site:example.com",(in Google) replacing your domain with 'example.Com'. This should bring all indexed pages from your web site. Do not use your prefered domain to replace 'example.com', but if you need to search for a subdomain you use, replace 'example.com' with full domain.(eg: to get results from foo.example.com, replace 'example.com' with foo.example.com. This will bring results from both foo.example.com and bar.foo.example.com)
If you see no results, Definitely you can say that Google has no any pages indexed from your web site.
If your web site is old, or if you found your web site in Google search results earlier, this is the red signal which indicate that you are banned.
New web site ? It's okay if you see no results. We even have other tests.
Try Google Apps
Go to Google Apps and give a try to register your domain name for a standard plan. Google Apps won't let you register if your domain is banned.
Possibility of registering doesn't directly reflect your web site's banned status. For an example, Google has millions of results from .tk domains, but all .tk domains are banned from Google apps. Also, Google bans Google-apps-registered domains.
Page rank returns "not available"
Download Google's page rank checking toolbar(Also you can use a third party page rank checking web site or tool) and check the page rank of your domain. If your web site is old, and still show "not available" as page rank, consider you are lost. When I'm saying old, I mean site older than 9-10 months.
I'm banned, what next ?
I'm sorry to hear that. Don't worry. If you added and verified your site in Google webmaster central, you can submit a reconsideration request. Write your request very descriptive, and write down every step that you think if it's a matter to banning. Stay calm for 3 weeks. Although they say that reconsideration takes 3 months, it isn't. Good luck.
